Pull together for September 11

One of my friends passed this along to me and I would like to pass it on to all of my readers.  The September 11th tragedy feels as though it was last week but we are creeping up to the tenth year.  Let us not forget this time where all of America pulled together through our weekest times.

"On Sunday, September 11th, 2011, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States .
Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this tenth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds."

Ideas for the Perfect Backyard Barbecue

Nothing is beter then having friends over to enjoy the summer!
Here are a few tips to make your backyard barbque an even better success!

• Go over the guest list.  This ensures that you would have enough food prepared for your guests. 
• Don't "stick a fork in it".  Using a fork to flip the food on the grill allows the juices form the meats to escape.  Try using tongs to flip the food.  This keeps the flavor in and reduces the chances for the meats to dry out over the heat.
• Defrost the foods ahead of time.  Defrost the meats at least an hour before it hits the grill.  Cold meat on a grill reduces the grill's temperature and prevents the juices from getting seared in. 
• Barbque sauce adds a lot of flavor to the meats but hold back from adding them to the meats towards the end.  Applying the sauce early could cause burning.
